Find the best surf waves, a sea full of blues and historic cities in Ecuador. The coast of Ecuador offers exciting adventures on the Pacific Ocean.

The coastal region of Ecuador has more than 1,000 km of dream beaches that line up, high cliffs, beautiful bays, national parks, protected areas and much more...

The coast of Ecuador has a tropical climate, it is hot and humid. From June to November the weather is cooler and drier, and from December to May it is slightly hotter and rainier. The landscape is diverse, ranging from lush green mangrove forests to tropical dry forests.

In the interior of the coastal lowlands, agriculture and livestock are essential activities. Crops such as bananas, rice, sugar cane, cotton, tobacco, coffee, cocoa and tropical fruits are produced for the domestic market as well as for export.

The coast covers about 70,000 km², less than one-third of Ecuador's area. Nevertheless, about 50% of the population lives in this region, especially in and around the city of Guayaquil, the vibrant, modern business and economic center, as well as the most important port of Ecuador.
